What we hold, and what we do with it.

This covers abproductions.ca, the brand questionnaire and the client area. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, ask and we will explain it in plain words.

What we collect

Only what you give us. There is no analytics on this site, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third party scripts, with one exception noted below.

WhereWhat
The brand questionnaireYour answers to the questions you choose to answer. That includes your name, email, phone if you give it, your organisation, and whatever you tell us about your brand and your project. If you name files, we record their names, not the files.
The client areaThe email address of the Google account you sign in with, and a record of when you signed in and what you looked at.
Your project folderAnything you upload, and anything we deliver back to you.

We do not ask for, and have no way to receive, payment card details. We never store passwords, because there are none: the client area uses Sign in with Google.

Where it is stored

In Google Workspace, in an account controlled by AB Productions. Your project files live in a Google Shared Drive created for you and for nobody else. Records about your projects live in a Google Sheet that is shared with no one and is reachable only by our own software running under our account.

Google stores this data on its own infrastructure, which may be outside Canada.

Who can see it

  • You, for your own material.
  • AB Productions, meaning Greg Anderson and any contractor working on your project, added for the length of that work and removed afterwards.
  • Google, as the provider of the systems it sits in.

No other client can see your material. Each client has a separate drive, and the software resolves what you may see from the account you signed in with, never from anything your browser sends.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not give it to anyone else unless the law requires it.

The one outside script

The client area loads Sign in with Google from accounts.google.com, because signing in with Google is not possible without it. That is the only third party code on this site. The main site and the questionnaire load nothing from anywhere else at all.

How long we keep it

Project files are removed thirty days after a project closes, unless you are on a storage plan. We tell you the date in writing when the project closes.

Records about the work, meaning the project history, approvals and invoices, we keep for as long as we may need them for tax, accounting or a dispute. That is seven years for financial records.

Questionnaire answers stay in your project folder and follow the same thirty day rule as the rest of it.

Deleting your data

Email [email protected] and ask. We will tell you what we hold, and remove what we are not required to keep.

Two honest notes rather than a comfortable silence:

  • Deletion is done by a person, not on a timer. That is deliberate, so nothing disappears by accident.
  • Deleted files sit in the Shared Drive trash for thirty days before they are gone for good, and may exist in our backups for a period after that. When you ask us to delete something, we clear it from those places too, and it is not finished until we have.

You can also ask to see what we hold, ask us to correct it, or complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we have handled it badly. This site is operated from British Columbia and PIPEDA applies.

Cookies

We set none. The client area keeps your session in the memory of the tab you are using, and it is gone when you close it. Nothing is written to your device that survives the visit.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, we will say so here and change the date at the top rather than quietly editing it.
